These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Built to Roam website, platform, and any related services (together, the"Platform").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

In these Terms:

"Built to Roam", "we", "us" or "our" means Built to Roam Ltd, as defined below.
"you" or "your" means the person accessing or using the Platform, whether as a visitor, buyer, professional converter, or private seller.

1. About Built to Roam

Built to Roam is operated by Built to Roam Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16845135, whose registered office is Thomas House Meadowcroft Business Park, Pope Lane, Whitestake, Preston, Lancashire, England, PR4 4AZ.

Built to Roam is a digital marketplace and community platform dedicated to the campervan and adventure vehicle sector. We provide tools that enable users to:

Browse and discover campervans, conversions, and related services
Connect with professional converters and private sellers
Access educational and community content about campervan ownership and conversion

Built to Roam is not a dealer, broker, or agent for buyers or sellers.

Any contract for the purchase, sale, hire, or conversion of a vehicle is made solely between the relevant users (for example, between a buyer and a professional converter or private seller). Built to Roam is not a party to those contracts.

Built to Roam does not hold or manage purchase monies on behalf of users and does not provide escrow or payment protection services.

2. Scope of these Terms

These Terms apply to all use of the Platform, including:

Browsing listings and other content
Creating and managing an account
Listing vehicles, conversions, or related services
Submitting enquiries and communicating with other users
Using any tools, features, or resources provided via the Platform

Additional or supplemental terms may apply to specific services or features (for example, certain paid services). Where applicable, those will be presented to you at the point of use and will form part of these Terms.

3. Eligibility and user accounts

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or list a vehicle or service on the Platform.
By creating an account, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.

3.2 Account registration and responsibility

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and any security credentials
All activity that occurs under your account (whether or not authorised by you)
Ensuring that any information you provide to us (including in your profile and listings) is accurate, complete, and kept up to date

You must notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that, in our reasonable opinion, breach these Terms, pose a security or legal risk, or are misused.

4. Role of Built to Roam

Built to Roam:

Provides a Platform for buyers, professional converters, and private sellers to discover one another and connect
Does not own, buy, sell, inspect, or verify vehicles or services listed on the Platform
Does not represent, endorse, or guarantee any user, listing, vehicle, or service
Does not participate in or become a party to negotiations, contracts, or transactions between users
Does not handle or hold purchase monies, delivery arrangements, or documentation for vehicles or services

Any agreement made in relation to a vehicle, conversion, or service is solely between the relevant users. You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence, checks, and inspections before entering into any contract or making any payment.

5. Listings and content

5.1 Responsibility for listings

Sellers (including professional converters and private sellers) are solely responsible for their listings and any related content. This includes responsibility for ensuring that all listings:

Are accurate, truthful, and not misleading in any respect
Include up-to-date information, including pricing, availability, and any material defects or limitations
Present images and media that fairly represent the vehicle or service being offered
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including (where relevant) consumer protection, advertising, and vehicle-related laws

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that vehicles and conversions comply with all legal and regulatory requirements that apply to them, including (where relevant) roadworthiness, MOT, insurance, tax, and any required gas or electrical safety certifications.

5.2 Reviews of listings by Built to Roam

Built to Roam does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legality of any listing.

We may, at our discretion, carry out ad hoc and limited reviews of listings from time to time in order to:

Help maintain overall quality and trust on the Platform
Check for obvious inaccuracies, misleading information, or prohibited content
Help identify apparent breaches of these Terms or applicable laws

Any such review is limited in scope and does not constitute verification, inspection, endorsement, or approval of a listing, vehicle, converter, or seller. The responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of all listing information remains solely with the seller.

We are under no obligation to review any listing and do not guarantee that inaccuracies, issues, or prohibited content will be identified or corrected.

5.3 Professional and private sellers

Professional converters and other business sellers may be subject to different listing tools and requirements on the Platform.

Sellers must not misrepresent their status. In particular:

Professional or business sellers must not present themselves as private individuals
All sellers are solely responsible for complying with applicable consumer and trading laws, including any information, cancellation, or guarantee rights that may apply to their transactions

Built to Roam does not provide legal advice to sellers regarding their obligations under consumer or other laws.

5.4 User-generated content and licence

The Platform may allow you to upload, post, or submit content, including text, images, logos, videos, and other media (together,"User Content").

By uploading or submitting User Content, you:

Grant Built to Roam a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-freelicence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt, and otherwise use that User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, and improve the Platform
Warrant that you have all rights, licences, consents, and permissions needed to use and upload the User Content and to grant the above licence
Warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights (including intellectual property, privacy, and publicity rights) and is not unlawful or defamatory

We may remove, disable, or modify any User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms, infringes third-party rights, or poses a legal or reputational risk.

6. User obligations and acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or information
Infringe or misappropriate any intellectual property or other proprietary rights
Upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate
Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or third parties
Use the Platform for unauthorised or unlawful commercial activities
Use the Platform in any way intended to avoid, circumvent, or interfere with any fees or charges applicable to the Platform
Use automated means (including bots, crawlers, or scrapers) to access or collect data from the Platform, except as permitted by us in writing or by a publicly documented API
Attempt to interfere with, damage, or disrupt the operation, security, or integrity of the Platform or any related systems
Bypass or attempt to bypass any technical or security measures on the Platform

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate users who, in our reasonable opinion, breach these obligations or otherwise misuse the Platform.

7. Educational and editorial content

Any educational, editorial, or guidance content provided by Built to Roam (including articles, FAQs, checklists, and tools) is for general information only.

It does not constitute:

Professional mechanical, electrical, gas, or safety inspection or certification
Legal, financial, tax, or other regulated professional advice
A recommendation or endorsement of any particular vehicle, converter, or seller

You remain responsible for carrying out appropriate checks, seeking independent professional advice where necessary, and obtaining any inspections or reports you consider necessary before entering into any contract or making any payment.

8. Communications between users

The Platform may provide messaging or contact tools to facilitate communication between users (for example, enquiries from buyers to converters or sellers).

Built to Roam is not responsible for:

The content of communications between users
The conduct, responsiveness, or reliability of users
Any outcomes of discussions, negotiations, or agreements between users

You should exercise caution and good judgement when engaging with others. You must not use messaging tools to send spam, abusive messages, or any content that breaches these Terms or applicable laws.

9. Fees, paid services, and payments

Certain features or services on the Platform may be subject to fees, for example:

Paid listings or promotional placements for vehicles or services
Feature boosts or other promotional tools

Where applicable:

Fees will be clearly stated at the point of purchase
Any specific payment terms (for example, billing frequency or renewal) will be explained before you confirm your purchase
Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable once the relevant service has been provided, to the fullest extent permitted by law

All fees are payable in Pounds Sterling (GBP) unless stated otherwise.

9.1 Stripe and payment processing

Payments for Platform fees are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe. By making a payment on the Platform, you agree to comply with any applicable terms and policies of the relevant payment provider.

Built to Roam does not store complete payment card details. However, payment providers may store and process your payment information in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies.

For clarity:

Platform fees relate to your use of Built to Roam (for example, for listings or promotional features)
Built to Roam is not responsible for the price or payment terms of vehicles, conversions, or services agreed between users, which are a matter solely between the relevant buyer and seller

We may introduce, vary, or withdraw fees and paid features from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice of material pricing changes where practicable.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform (other than User Content), including the design, text, graphics, software, and the Built to Roam name, logos, and branding, is owned by or licensed to Built to Roam and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Except as expressly permitted by us in writing or as necessary for normal use of the Platform, you must not:

Copy, reproduce, modify, adapt, or distribute content from the Platform
Use any of our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent
Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the Platform

Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in or to the Platform or any content on it, other than the limited right to access and use the Platform in accordance with these Terms.

User Content remains owned by the relevant user, subject to the licence granted to Built to Roam in section 5.4.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (including your account) at any time if, in our reasonable opinion:

You have materially breached these Terms
Your content or conduct poses a legal, security, or reputational risk to us or to other users
We are required to do so by law, regulation, or a competent authority

We will normally try to give you notice of suspension or termination where reasonable to do so, but we may act without notice where we reasonably consider it necessary (for example, in cases of serious or repeated misconduct).

Termination or suspension of your account does not affect any rights or obligations that have already accrued up to the date of termination, including any payment obligations.

Certain provisions of these Terms, which by their nature are intended to survive termination (including sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity), will continue to apply after your access ends.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and"as available" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Built to Roam:

Does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free access to the Platform
Does not guarantee that the Platform will be free from bugs, viruses, or other harmful components
Does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, suitability, or availability of any vehicles, conversions, services, listings, or users on the Platform
Does not guarantee that any listing will result in an enquiry, booking, or sale

Any reliance you place on information obtained from or through the Platform (including listings and educational content) is at your own risk. You are solely responsible for conducting appropriate checks, inspections, and due diligence.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any warranties or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law

Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Built to Roam shall not be liable for:

Any losses, damages, or claims arising from or in connection with transactions, contracts, or relationships between users (including any purchase, sale, hire, or conversion of vehicles or services)
Any loss of data, income, revenue, profits, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings (whether direct or indirect)
Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in listings, User Content, or other content on the Platform
Any actions, omissions, or representations of buyers, sellers, converters, or other users
Any loss or damage caused by viruses, distributed denial-of-service attacks, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, programs, data, or other proprietary material due to your use of the Platform or any website linked to it

To the extent permitted by law, and subject always to the non-excludable liabilities set out above, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Platform and these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall be limited to the greater of:

The total amount of Platform fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
£100 (one hundred pounds sterling).

Different limitations and exclusions of liability may apply to liability arising in relation to any other products or services that we expressly agree in writing to provide to you under separate terms.

14. Indemnity

If you use the Platform in the course of a business (for example, as a professional converter or trade seller), you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Built to Roam, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

Your breach of these Terms
Your listings, User Content, or use of the Platform
Your transactions, communications, or relationships with other users
Any claim that your User Content infringes or violates any third-party rights (including intellectual property rights)

This indemnity does not apply to consumers where and to the extent that it would be unlawful or unfair under applicable consumer law.

15. Privacy and cookies

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, and how we use cookies and similar technologies.

These policies form part of these Terms. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and that cookies and similar technologies may be used as described in our Cookie Policy.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Platform, our practices, or applicable laws.

When we make changes, we will:

Post the updated Terms on the Platform, and
Update the "Effective from" date at the top of the Terms

For significant changes, we may also provide additional notice (for example, by email to registered users or by displaying a notice on the Platform), where reasonably practicable.

Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Terms take effect will constitute your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim, except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
