We build durable, gas-free and off-grid campervans designed for purposeful adventure and flexible living on the road. Combining expert craftmanship with extensive global van life experience, we offer beautifully built and functionable campervans that are tailored to your needs. As a small family and veteran owned company, we focus on one build at a time offering you a truly bespoke and collaborative service where you are involved every step of the way from the initial design process through to completion of your build. On completion of your van, our comprehensive handover teaches you to understand and use your electrical system with ease. We pride ourselves on building long lasting relationships with our customers and our after care service is just as important to us. We understand that there may be an initial period where you will need our full support in getting to know your campervan and we are here for you whenever you need advice or support, for however long you need us. www.homesmithcampers.com

All of our vans are fitted with a full Victron Energy system paired with a powerful Roamer lithium battery. Built for efficiency and reliability, this system gives you the freedom, and confidence, to travel further and stay off-grid longer without compromising on your home comforts. Every system is issued with an electrical safety certificate. Cosy nights and hot showers are standard. With a Truma Combi D4E in all our conversions, you get hot water and cabin air using your diesel tank or your electrical system.
We prioritise using premium, durable materials that are low VOC, responsibly sourced and environmentally conscious to create light and natural spaces to live in.
We spent a year travelling full time acoss Canada and America with our young family completely off-grid and far from the beaten track without phones or internet connectivity. We still travel extensively in our van every summer during the school holidays, thus staying up to date with indsutry advances and fully understanding what is needed to travel and live comfortably in your van. We love sharing travel tips and our Homesmith community of full time van lifers help us share the best adventure spots.
“James and Sarah provide a fantastic service at Homesmith. From when we first contacted them, they were professional, empathetic and interested in our project. It felt like they had put themselves in our shoes entirely. They came up with some great ideas and developed them alongside our own as the build progressed. We could not be more delighted with our finished van. James craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional. We would absolutely recommend them.” — Chris
“Sarah and James at Homesmith Campers built me the van of my dreams! From the outset (lots of initial design convos), the whole process was a real pleasure. I definitely had a few moments where I overthought the spec or wasn’t sure what the right call was, but eacg time I went with their advice, it turned out they were spot on. They are so experienced and have got lots of knowledge having lived and travelled in their van The quality of the conversion is unreal. Top-end craftsmanship - everything feels solid, considered, and finished to a gorgeous high standard. They are the best in the business! And the aftercare has been just as impressive. I’ve had a couple of minor issues along the way (mostly my own doing!), and Sarah and James have been straight there to help me figure it out and get it sorted no questions asked. Couldn’t recommend Homesmith enough if you want a bespoke, top-of-the-range adventure van. I’ve already had so many trips in mine and I’m completely in love with it.” — Joe
“Your lived experience exploring the world in a van was invaluable in helping guide us through the build and getting us ready to hit the road. We loved that you were just as excited as we were about our van, Yukon (or Yuki, for short), and our upcoming adventures. This is clearly a passion for you both and it translates into your work and how you run Homesmith Campers. Yuki is our dream van. The quality and craftsmanship of the build (and the fixtures and fittings you sourced for us) is exceptional. We’ve had countless people knock on our door to complement our ‘good-looking’ van and ask for a tour. Most importantly, you customised Yuki exactly for what we wanted. It’s perfect for us and for what we want to be (and are) doing. Plenty of living space (great when it rains … the tires have come in handy … no longer just for show), fits all our toys, super comfortable and genuinely feels like home. Thank you again for all your passion, enthusiasm and hard work.” — Kasia
“While staying at a campsite in Wiltshire, a chance encounter led us to James and Sarah, who were putting the finishing touches to a 4x4 Sprinter conversion that ticked every box on our wish list. That chance meeting proved to be true serendipity. The journey from that first conversation to taking delivery of our own van was far from straightforward. Vehicle supply delays, manufacturer issues and a failed vehicle purchase meant the project was delayed by almost a year. Throughout it all, James and Sarah were incredibly patient, flexible and supportive. Nothing was ever too much trouble. When work began, their craftsmanship and attention to detail were first class. Weight restrictions required careful planning and their recommendations on materials and layout proved spot on. The finished campervan exceeded our expectations. We are absolutely delighted with the final build.Homesmith Campers is a small family business with a big heart. Would we use them again? Without hesitation yes” — Mark and Liz
“We approached Homesmith campers after doing quite a lot of research, moreover deciding what we didn’t want. We were drawn to James and Sarah’s vans from their style, finishing and uniqueness of their vans. The layout and flexibility of our design was different to their norm. They were so easy to work with, accommodating our layout and the functionality we wanted. We really appreciated their spot on advice on what to have and what not to have and that has shown it’s worth now we’ve used the van. The communication was great and we were always kept in the loop about progress and decisions. We loved the way our van was bespoke and fitted with all their great way of doing things and all the little touches that make it fab inside and out. Having used “Rosie” this summer and been off grid many times and she is fantastic. Just as we wanted and more than we wished for. We would thoroughly recommend Homesmith to you.” — Steve and Kate
“We chose Homesmith Campers to convert our LWB Mercedes Sprinter because of the quality of their work, and the organisation of their projects. We were not disappointed: the final van conversion is a dream and the envy of our family and friends, and the process was really, really enjoyable. The final design was a mix of what we wanted, and their input of years of experience of van living and building. When we approached them, James and Sarah had a waiting list, and gave us exact start and end dates, which they stuck to. They started to help us 6 months before when we were looking for a van to buy. James took us around an existing van and told us what to look out for and where. Overall they have been, and continue to be, incredibly helpful -- customer service second to none. We have just returned from a 2 week trip around the UK in winter. The van was a dream, and we can't wait to go again. She is just the most wonderful thing ever. We love her.” — Megan and Steve
“Sarah & James at Homesmith Campers built our dream adventure van. They were there every step of the journey to help guide us, from what van to use as a base, initial designs making the most out of the space, tailoring it to our specific wants and needs (an adventure van with a bike garage), through to colour schemes with particular patience and perseverance sourcing colours and materials! They used their extensive experience to help advise us throughout, were never overbearing and always happy to revisit options. They were very easy to communicate with and we went for multiple visits during the conversion; they were completely transparent with costs, allowing us to make sure each individual part was what we’d hoped for. Their attention to detail is outstanding, bringing together a van we could only dream of, which having lived in it now for a month in the mountains, is everything we could have hoped for. We cannot recommend Homesmith Campers highly enough.” — Gail and Ollie
