Compact camper conversion built on a 2019 Caddy Maxi, built for comfortable weekends away for two. It’s compact and easy to drive, handles like a car rather than a van with good fuel efficiency. The van is fully insulated and has bonded side windows, one of which opens, all with blackout curtains fitted. The custom-sized mattress cushions sit on a bench that pulls out into a comfortable double bed. The kitchen is simple and practical. A detachable stove and a chest fridge/freezer sit on heavy-duty sliding drawer runners, so you can cook outside, or inside at a push. Water comes from an 11L Dometic GO reservoir with a rechargeable pump and tap. The 12V system runs on lithium batteries charged by a solar roof array, with a smart charger off the alternator as a backup. It also has USB charging and built-in downlighters. There’s plenty of storage, with pull-out drawers and a wall-mounted hook board inside. A custom T-slot aluminium roof rack can be quickly modified to carry a huge amount of extra gear. A sided mounted 2M X 2M awning provides rain and sun cover.
